If i put a performace camshaft in my 1500 heim would it help pull better?

i want to put a performace cam shaft in my ram 1500 heim to make is a lot faster but will it pull the same or not?

    Yes that would make a big difference. Before I did that you may want to take it and have the computer adjusted so that you can get all the power out of it. Its more than just a chip (though a chip would work and is easy). Get it to a shop with a Dyno and see what they recommend.

    you should have no problem with this situation. if for any reason you see that its worse then just adjust the cams to more torque or more power on lower rmp’s that should do it.

    the torque is determined by the final gear ratio. . the rear if a 3. 28 and a racing cam will give you low end torque but a speed of 127 in the quarter mile. .
    a rear of 4. 56 will give a lot of low end torque 0 to 60 three seconds. . but only 99 mph in the quarter mile. . . if you want pulling power change the rear ratio. . if you want more top end change the cam. . lifters also go with solid lifters. and remember to put a shield on top of the bell housing to protect yourself from explosion of the flywheel and pressure plate ok.

    yes it will give u more torque . . . but it will waste more gas
